The surviving Earths, trapped in a pocket universe, face destruction by the Anti-Monitor.
We have come to the final arc of the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline. Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths Pt 3 picks up right at the very end of the previous film with a brief overlap of events. If you have not watched them back-to-back you will not be too lost.
Despite the tights and flights this is really a disaster film with its destruction on a multiversal scale. As I said before elsewhere I’m a sucker for a disaster movie. And by ‘sucker’ I mean I’m willing to give any disaster movie a shot. Not every one of them is worth my time sadly. Moonfall I am looking at you.
There is a high level of destruction equivalent with the threat in this which is something necessary. Whatever your problem is you need to equal that with visually displayed moments of devastation. They need to match the scale of the problem and this does that. It balances that with just generally cool superhero moments.

Time is breaking down which allows for the use of many characters from the long history of DC comics and the properties they managed to gobble up over the decades. We get the original The Losers and even The Super Friends. Non-speaking but they are there. Wamester and friends understand fan service is important. While it is fan service, it is fan service that comes at a cost. It briefly makes so much canonical and connected before brushing it all aside. I understand the reason for doing it but the kid in me is sad.
I like how this retroactively connects bits from Green Lantern: Beware My Power, Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, Legion of Super-Heroes, and even the Adam Strange short. Obviously some of that if not much of that was not intended be part of a future film, but they do use those elements in a logical sense retroactively making them part of this third arc much like a comic book might.
Our heroes don’t achieve full victory. That’s a little unusual. There are long-term consequences to what’s happening here. It’s a victory but not free of consequence. I’m not sure how the multiverse problem was settled. Were there far too many alternate realities being formed or did their solution ultimately lead to no other realities being formed? It seems more like the former than the latter with multiverses becoming a limited.

The animation style has won me over here. Or maybe because they broke it up by imitating the animation styles of their older stuff for elements of fan service. Regardless, it didn’t even phase me until after the movie was over. I realized it hadn’t even crossed my mind.
There’s not too much story here. This is simply a continuation of part two. I do miss the days when sequels even part of predetermined arcs were independent. That’s just a personal growth, but not a complaint over this.
I enjoyed Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths Pt 3. It was exciting and the moments of sacrifice actually connected with me. It worked on all the right levels. If you like DC animation this whole series is worth a shot.

Justice League Crisis on Infinite Earths is a good disaster film trilogy. There are plenty of superhero likes has some earned emotional moments. The animation grew on me. The voice acting is good and expands upon the characters in a way that animation cannot. The voice performers are capable in their parts. I’ve even softened a little bit on Stana Katic doing a Gal Gadot impersonation for Wonder Woman. Very enjoyable.
