Some things exist far too briefly. While they may leave while on top you never really want them to go. Such is the case with the YouTube channel Cynic Snacks. This is less a review I guess and maybe a venting as well as a weak explanation for fellow curious souls.
I stumbled across Cynic Snacks a while back and it seemed that shortly after that the individual behind the channel stopped releasing on YouTube. It was an odd spot on YouTube hosted by a sentient slice of pizza who commented on the worst videos it could find.
The host discovered some truly awful movies on here that the outside world may never have heard of because they were so cheaply done and so poorly marketed that at first glance you would not want to look at them. These were the easily ignored at the store or on streaming.
The presentations on the channel were entertaining and humorous and they never held back. I can’t say I laughed, but I certainly smiled and was drawn in by the weirdness of a talking pizza discussing some crappy movie found in some used retailer or some thrift store. Or those put forward by Christian filmmakers. Or how some once popular actor was scaping the bottom.
He surely generated a strong fanbase in his short time. A question I’ve seen pop up here and there on the Internet as well as in comments for the videos existing on YouTube is what became of him? Why no more of his witty and cynical takes?
Near as anybody can gather is he just got burnt out. One or two have donated the bare minimum to his still active Patreon to see the explanation. That’s rather unfortunate because what he did give us is absolutely brilliant. Witty and dry. It cut directly to the heart of the matter or the issue of the video.
Though what there is limited, checking out the available content of Cynic Snacks is certainly worthy of your time. And if the genius behind it sees this or anything that is a public post I hope he reconsiders quitting and at least occasionally puts something out. He was very good and is certainly missed.
